Hazardous Goods
Shipping of lithium batteries and lithium cells or shipping of articles with lithium batteries and lithium cells by FBK
Lithium batteries and lithium cells are classified as dangerous goods under transport law. In principle, their transport is subject to the requirements of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.
So-called UN numbers or substance numbers are assigned to the respective dangerous goods. These four-digit codes serve as a brief description of the transported goods and (in combination with a corresponding hazard number) the hazard they pose for the purpose of rapid identification in the event of damage.
The relevant UN regulations for the classification of lithium batteries and lithium cells as dangerous goods can currently be found under the following UN numbers (simplified packing instruction according to ADR special provision 188):
Important note:
In the immediate and medium term, only products which can be classified in accordance with SV 188 are approved for delivery to our fulfilment centres and for shipping to customers. Products which do not meet this classification and are classified as dangerous goods class 9 according to the ADR classification can neither be delivered to us nor shipped by us!
Therefore, lithium ion batteries which are >20 Wh per cell or >100 Wh per battery are excluded from FBK. Likewise, lithium metal batteries with >1g of lithium per cell or >2g of lithium per battery are also excluded.

Products classified as dangerous goods class 9 are not currently allowed on FBK! Therefore, products where “yes” is selected cannot be delivered to us or shipped by us.
